I am an Environmental Scientist with a strong practical management background. I have extensive experience in the Waste, Quarrying and Farming industries providing and implementing environmental solutions not just for regulatory compliance, but for future proofing in face of increasing environmental expectations in these sectors.
I am proud to have been actively involved in developing regional freshwater recommendations for local government and iwi, with a firm focus on co-governance and te ao Maori.
I also have experience in chairing diverse teams, project management, community liaison, report writing for council and plans for industry teams. I enjoy bringing people together and with our shared experiences, improving environmental outcomes.
An excellent understanding of current regulation and science is important, but what is key to successful projects and outcomes is that the solutions are pragmatic, implementable, effective, and meet the environmental and cultural expectations of Aotearoa.
I have a bachelor's degree in environmental science and a Masters in Soil Science from Lincoln University. I also have certificates in Nutrient Management, Agricultural Greenhouse Emissions and Environmental Farm Planning from Massey University.
I keep current with new and progressive research through my professional networks and memberships that include NZ Society of Soil Science, NZ Freshwater Sciences Society, Environment Insititute of Australia and NZ, NZ Association of Resource Management, The National Wetland Trust and WasteMINZ.
